Masks

A man of many masks, 

which should he wear today?

to be who he thinks he should be,

for you.

Wanting admiration,

he's everyone he's not.

His true self hidden,

under sediment of pain,

of lost love.

Little doggy from heaven,

Wrapped in snow,

Carrying a message of love:

"I am here."

God and angels disguised,

As this furry creature.

She says: "love me, or not.

I'll love you forever."

Military Man

A man was born to see the world, 

To experience untold adventures.

Mysteries within and without discovered-- 

Enchanting lands and dismal sights.

He found grace in seeking, 

Peace in action,

Soothed by movement.

Uncharted territory awaits;

He is home, wherever he goes.

He is home, wherever he is.

Comfort

Cradled in God’s hands,
Unknowingly, 
As I cradle my own face.
The divine within comforts me.
